William V. Varga, age 85 years, of Franklin Township, Hunterdon County, NJ died on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 in the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
He was born in Hungary on September 9, 1927, son of the late Vilmos and Maria Sagi Varga.
William was extremely proud to be a naturalized United States Citizen. He survived three wars in Hungary and at one time escaped from a Communist prison when facing torture and execution.
He loved West Germany but eventually came to the United States in 1956. he worked in Ohio and traveled extensively throughout the United States, particularly Texas and California.
In 1962, he became a United States Citizen and in 1965, settled in Newark, NJ and worked for Wallace and Tiernan. He married his wife Shelley in 1970 and was married to her for 43 years. She survives him.
